The China Desk of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is operated by Cathay Partners from our Shanghai office. A Hungarian company with a China question, or a Chinese company looking at Hungary, gets a first answer before any formal engagement. If a matter needs research, advice or implementation, our Shanghai office, a member firm or a partner firm takes it on.
The China Desk makes the corridor navigable for companies without an in-house China or Hungary team. It answers the questions that arise before a formal engagement and identifies the right route when implementation is needed.

How it works
Cathay Partners operates the Desk, based in our Shanghai office, under its cooperation agreement with the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. First orientation is informational: it does not itself create a professional engagement and commits the Chamber to nothing. If a matter needs research, formal advice, representation or implementation, we review it and send a written offer, a fixed fee or hourly rates with an agreed cap, so the cost is predictable before work starts.
