About
An advisory network for companies working across borders
Cathay Partners connects independent law, tax, accounting and market-entry firms in 98 countries, with more than 5,000 advisers between them. Clients get local expertise in each market and one contact person who coordinates the whole engagement.
Companies that enter a new market rarely need only a lawyer or only a market study. Structure affects tax, location affects incentives, permits affect construction, and commercial decisions eventually have to hold up in contracts and disputes. Cathay Partners was built so that these questions are handled together, by people who work in the market concerned.
How the network is built
Each member firm works under its own country's law and professional rules, in the local language, with the specialisms its market calls for. Some members are a handful of specialists, others are large offices. What connects them is coordination: a matter that touches several countries runs as one engagement, with one scope and one contact person. More about our advisers
What clients receive
We assign the right adviser to your matter as your contact and bring in the local experts in every other country involved, so you do not have to find an adviser in each country and hold the project together yourself. If you are based abroad, you can start with a member office in your own country and language.
How engagements run
Most engagements start with a contained first step, such as a market-entry assessment, a counterparty check, a structure, a contract, a filing or a recovery analysis. Tell us about the matter and what you want to achieve. We send a written offer before work starts, either a fixed fee or hourly rates with an agreed cap, and if the scope stays the same, so does the fee. Once the route is clear, the same network carries on into implementation.
