Kft. or EU branch registration in Hungary, ready for tax and banking

In Hungary a company can only be registered by an attorney: the incorporation documents have to be countersigned by one. That makes the choice of attorney the first real decision, not an afterthought. The common failure is a registration done cheaply and quickly, with a company form, a scope of activity or an ownership structure that has to be unpicked a year later when the business does something the paperwork did not anticipate.

Fixed fee EUR 750 plus VAT

A fixed fee that covers every item of the Kft. registration: registration, EU VAT number and authority fees. You know the cost from the first step and can plan with it.

Timeline: Registration is typically completed within the company court's statutory processing time, a matter of days once the filing is complete; the whole process, including document preparation and legalisation from abroad, usually runs 2-3 weeks.

FAQ

Kft. or branch?

A Kft. is a separate Hungarian legal entity with its own liability; a branch is legally part of the foreign parent, which remains liable for it. A Kft. is the usual answer for anyone intending to trade, hire or hold assets here. A branch can make sense for a short, defined project or where a group structure requires it. We will tell you which one fits before you pay for either.

Can a company be registered entirely from abroad?

Yes. Most founders sign in person, at our Budapest office, at our Shanghai office, or at the Hungarian consulate; a private-individual founder needs only a passport copy and basic personal data, no notarisation or apostille. A notarised and apostilled power of attorney from your own country remains an option where that is more convenient. What cannot always be done remotely is the bank account: banks apply their own identification rules, and several require the signatory in person.

What do you need from us to start?

Identity documents for the owners and directors, proof of the parent company's existence if there is one, the intended name and activity, and a decision on the registered seat. We send a single checklist; there is no second round of surprise requests.
